Howdy Warren, I was wondering if you could help me create a "history of PPM" document for the board member handbook, and also find a home for it on the "about PPM" wiki page.
The target audience is someone like "Joey", who is brand new to the Board, but also fairly new to the organization.
This is what I have so far:
Pikes Peak Makerspace was founded in 2014 as a program of the Manitou Arts Center to support a growing interest in 3D printing. The focus of the core group of founders was on the 3D Delaney project, 3D printing a prosthetic hand for a young lady in Colorado Springs.
PPM gained a lot of traction with the donation of a 30 Watt Epilog Zing Laser, as well as a well planned publicity stunt where they hauled 3D printers to the top of Pikes Peak to attempt to set a world record.
Chris Vestal, the founder of MotoMinded was the founding Executive Director of Pikes Peak Makerspace. Chris famously secured our lease with Nor’Wood Development with a handshake deal in the alley in 2015, and also filed paperwork with the State and the IRS to secure our 501c3 non profit status.
Our wiki was first indexed by Google in November 2015.
