Instructions on How to Join
( START )
- New Member Orientation Quiz (Google Form)
- Our orientation quiz is written with leading questions designed to guide your learning. The answer to each question will be in our wiki or on our website, and should be pretty easy to find. By answering each question after you've found the answer, you will demonstrate to us that you have learned the things we need our members to know. If you pass the quiz with a score of 70% or better, that will be good enough to proceed to the next step. Go take the test now, if you'd like to get started!

- FAIL: If you score below a 70%, then you need to retake the quiz.
- PASS: If you score above a 70%, then you will be sent an email with instructions for the next onboarding steps.
- Check Your Email! (Email Inbox)
- Once you pass the quiz, you should receive a confirmation email with links for the next onboarding steps.
- Sign our waiver form
- We have a standard waiver form for members, acknowledging that you understand and agree to follow the rules and safety protocols for our makerspace. After you pass the New Member Orientation Quiz, you'll receive an automated email with a link to sign our waiver online. We can't give you a membership card until you've signed the waiver.
- A link to sign the form online will be provided in the email you will receive when you pass the quiz.

- Choose a membership level and sign up through our Optix app
- We use Optix to manage many features for our members, including monthly or annual membership payments. Our Optix web widget will allow you to select the membership level and payment cycle that you prefer. Once you have set up automatic payments and completed the sign-up process in Optix, look out for a confirmation email with links for each of the further steps.

- Check Your Email! (Email Inbox)
- You will receive a confirmation email that you have registered for membership.
- That email will provide links for the following steps.
- Accept our Slack Invitation
- Slack is the main method of communication for PPM. It makes it easy to reach out to other members, report any problems, or share what you've been working on! It's not mandatory, but it makes communication much easier for us.
- Once you've completed the sign-up process in Optix, you should receive an automated email with a direct link to join our slack workspace. If you don’t receive that e-mail (check your spam folder) please contact us and one of our staff will help get you set up.
- Schedule Access Card Pick Up (Google Form)
- The email you receive when you sign up through Optix will also provide you with a link to a Google Form to schedule a date and time to pick up your access card.
- Come to the Pikes Peak Makerspace!
- Come to the makerspace, on the date and time you scheduled, to pick up your access card and meet some of the staff and volunteers.
- After this step you are officially a Pikes Peak Makerspace member.
- We will be glad to provide a brief tour, talk about onboarding and getting started, the makerspace in general, or answer other questions.
